NYC Tourist spots

By Faith Munoz

New York is filled with so many famous sites within walking distance of each other. Any time of the year, you are bound to find an endless array of things to see and do. Here is a list of my favorite spots in the city that I have discovered throughout my freshman year!

METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the United States! It is located at 1000 5th Ave and is home to the world’s oldest surviving piano!

THE HIGH LINE

The High Line is a 1.45 mile-long rail trail and linear park located on the west side of Manhattan. Fun fact - it was built on a former New York Central railroad!

HUDSON YARDS

A hub for contemporary and urban design, Hudson Yards never fails to disappoint. You can shop, eat with a view, and get a birds-eye view of the city from the Edge.

PIER 40

From walking distance from Washington Square Park and the West Village, the Pier is a great spot to relax and get a sight of downtown Manhattan and Jersey City. Citi Biking along the water is one of the best things to do at night!

CHELSEA MARKET

Near the Whitney Museum, Chelsea Market is a sophisticated SoHo. You can find an assortment of cuisines: spicy hand-pulled noodles from VeryFreshNoodles, bougie coffee from the Starbucks Reserve, birria tacos from Los Tacos No.1, and much more. Whether you want to go for a stroll surrounded by New York culture or for affordable tacos, Chelsea Market is definitely a top spot!

CANAL STREET - CHINATOWN

Authentic food, cheap eats, and aesthetic cafes--What more can you ask for? The sidewalks are always packed with markets that sell everything from pork buns to souvenirs.
